MY STORY

the story of a passion

Welcome to my world! I am Lisa, founder of Shamya and passionate about Art and travel. I like to let my creativity be expressed through drawing, sewing, painting, dancing, music… 

My style is colorful, elegant, inspired by other cultures or other times, and what I love most is to share it!

I created my first outfits at the age of 6, by tying scarves around me, drapeing several layers of fine fabrics to create flowing dresses that flew to the rhythm of my dance steps. My ideas have evolved, but my approach has not changed.

I try to create clothes that fit the movements, in perfect harmony with the body.

I trained to sew very early with my grandmother, then I continued at the Atelier Chardon-Savard in Paris. I graduated from Chaine-et-Trame Fashion Designer in 2017.

Then I began to travel, to be inspired by different cultures and to open my mind. I already knew that working for the fashion industry didn’t suit me. So I decided to turn my childhood dream into reality: create positive, sustainable, authentic, comfortable, radiant and ethical fashion!

And that’s how Shamya was born, and the story is just beginning…

 

THE PROJECT

Shamya was born from a simple idea: it is not up to the woman to adapt to clothes, but to clothes to adapt to women’s bodies! 

Our purpose is to help women feel beautiful and comfortable in their own skin. For this, we value comfort and well-being above all! Our clothes are designed and made by women, for women, in a spirit of body-positivity and sorority, because we are all there to help each other and shine! 

We choose to be transparent on all production, from fibres to finished products, because for us the truth is essential. We are committed to producing clothes that will help change things for the better, and this requires complete transparency.

Our goal is to offer the opportunity to feel beautiful, comfortable and free as air!

The materials come from a fair trade and the manufacturing is done in ethical workshops. We make sure that for every stage of manufacturing, everyone is paid appropriately.

ANIMAL RESPECT

Our materials and production processes are humane, and our products are vegan. We only use fibres that come from plants.

Our clothes are created to embrace the shapes of women’s bodies, to give them confidence in themselves and their abilities! All bodies are beautiful, all women are goddesses, and we’re all here to help each other.

RESPECT FOR THE PLANET

We use the most environmentally friendly materials possible: certified organic fabrics or fabrics made of recycled natural fibres. We choose to favour locally manufactured materials to keep our carbon footprint low.
